TITLE: SCHOOL PSYCHOLOGIST
QUALIFICATIONS: 1. Kentucky Certificate for School Psychologist
2. Such additional qualifications as the Board may find appropriate
and acceptable.
SUPERVISES: Not Applicable
JOB GOAL: To reduce individuals’ emotional, educational, and developmental
barriers to learning via intervention/prevention, consultation,
observation, evaluation, counseling and training.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Consults with teachers, staff and parents and community agencies on student related issues; collaborates with appropriate personnel to ensure delivery of services.
- Assists teachers and provides training in the development and implementation of appropriate psychological, academic, and behavioral interventions.
- Serves as member of designated advisory boards and other school committees as assigned by Supervisor or Superintendent.
- Coordinates and participates in parent training activities.
- Provides a variety of psychological services for students; administers and evaluates a variety of psychological, intellectual, educational, developmental, vocational, adaptive, personal, social and behavioral assessments.
- Serves as a member of the A.R.C. as directed by Supervisor or Superintendent.
- Assists staff in development of plans designed to increase student success in the regular classroom; monitors and reports on the implementation of those plans.
- Collects data and a prepares a variety of documents, communications, reports as directed by the Supervisor or Superintendent.
- Works with staff in evaluating currently implemented behavioral modification programs; assists in modifying programs as necessary.
- Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Special Education or the Superintendent.
TERM OF SERVICE: Salary and workdays to be established by the Board.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions
of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Certified Personnel.
