TITLE:                 BAND PERFORMANCE INSTRUCTOR

QUALIFICATIONS:       1. Kentucky Certificate, Emergency Certificate, or Certificate for Substitute Teaching preferred; or

2. Classified employee exempt from overtime requirements; or
3. Meets the requirements for paraprofessional personnel
4. Experience in the activity assigned
5. Such additional qualifications as the Superintendent or Board may find appropriate and acceptable

REPORTS:                  Band Director and Principal

SUPERVISES:             Not Applicable

JOB GOAL:                 To work closely with the Band Director to help recruit and teach band students.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Attends and teaches assigned rehearsals
2. Instructs all student participants in the proper instrumental or equipment fundamentals
3. Supervises participants immediately before, during, and after practice and performances, and during required travel.
4. Maintains professional conduct and serves as a role model when representing the district during school functions
5. Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Band Director, Principal, or Superintendent

Term of Service:       Salary and workdays to be established by the board

Evaluation:                Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the board’s policy on Evaluation of Certified or Classified Personnel.
