Assistant Band Performance Instructor

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS:      1.   Kentucky Certificate, Emergency Certificate or Certificate for Substitute

                                             Teaching preferred; or

                                       2.   Classified employee exempt from overtime requirements; or

                                       3.   Meets the requirements for paraprofessional personnel.

                                       4.   Experience in the activity assigned and/or participation in high school         

                                             and/or college Color Guard.

                                       5.  Such additional qualifications as the Superintendent or Board may find   

                                             appropriate and acceptable.

 

REPORTS:                   Director of Music Program and Principal

 

SUPERVISES:            Not Applicable

 

JOB GOAL:                  To work closely with the Band Director to help recruit, teach and supervise a Color Guard for the MCHS marching band program.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Attends and assists with all marching band rehearsals, performances and competitions.
2. Instructs all student participants in the proper fundamentals of performance.
3. Supervises participants immediately before, during and after practice and competitions as well as during required travel.
4. Maintains professional conduct and serves as a role model when representing the district during school functions.
5. Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Director of Music Program, Principal or the Superintendent.
