Pay Rates for 2024-2025

Kindergarten  or Office Assistant

$11.92/hour   or  $13.22 with Bachelor's Degree (transcripts needed)

 

Preschool and Special Education - LBD or MSD/FMD

$12.22/hour  or   $13.22 with Bachelor's Degree (transcripts needed)

                  

QUALIFICATIONS:     

   1.   High School diploma or equivalent    (For Full-time positions only, must pass Kentucky Paraeducator Assessment OR have 48+college hours)

   2.   Must meet Physical Performance Requirements

   3.   Such additional qualifications as the Superintendent or Board may find  

         appropriate and acceptable. 

 

REPORTS:  Principal/Teacher

 

JOB GOAL:  To assist the teacher in providing a well-organized, smoothly functioning class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials.

 

BASIC FUNCTION: Assist a certified teacher in providing instruction to individual or small groups; monitor and report student progress.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES 

  1. Provides instruction for individuals or small groups of students, reinforcing and implementing instruction as directed by the teacher; maintains records of student progress; administers a variety of assessments as directed by supervisor.
  2. Accompanies and supervises students during field trips.
  3. Supervises, monitors, and reports behavior of students according to approved procedures, as assigned; reports progress regarding student performance and behavior.
  4. Performs routine clerical duties such as, but not limited to, preparation of instructional and classroom materials, operating and caring for school equipment, maintaining classroom records, and maintaining attendance records as directed by supervisor. 
  5. Maintains a variety of files, records; enters and maintains data as assigned; prepares letters, memos, reports, or other documents as assigned. 
  6. Prepares work areas, displays and exhibits, operates audio-visual equipment, operates educational training equipment, and secures supplies and materials. 
  7. Assists in maintaining a safe, clean, and orderly classroom, school, and campus.
  8. Confers, as needed, with teachers concerning programs and materials to meet student needs. 
  9. Contacts parents of students as directed; makes home visits as necessary.
  10. Assures the health and safety of students by following health and safety practices and regulations.  Reports unsafe practices or rule violations to the supervisor or Principal.
  11. Participates in meetings and in-service training programs as assigned.  Rides bus when assigned by the Principal, assists with students loading and unloading.
  12. Provides and performs health services as directed by Supervisor after receiving appropriate training as required by law.
  13. Moves around and circulates in assigned areas.
  14. Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the supervising teacher, the Principal, or the Superintendent.
