COORDINATOR II  (Director of Family Resource/Youth Services Center)

QUALIFICATIONS:                 

  1. Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Human Services or related field.
  2. Such additional qualifications as the Superintendent or Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

REPORTS:                               Principal/Director of Pupil Personnel

 

SUPERVISES:                         Family Resource/Youth Services Center staff, volunteers, and other personnel as assigned.

 

JOB GOAL:                              To develop and implement Family Resource/Youth Services Centers in the school district and provide broad service delivery and referral systems in all, areas of youth education, family services, and community needs as shall be determined. 

 

BASIC FUNCTION:                 Plan, organize, implement and coordinate a project or activity having moderate impact on the District occasionally affecting more than one unit or department; requires adoption and interpretation of standard practices and procedures; contacts outside the unit require exercise of judgment to obtain approval.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Provides overall coordination for the center implementation and continuation of a broad service delivery and referral system that meets and addresses the needs of students, families, and the community.
  2. Facilitates, evaluates, and assesses casework services, educational-prevention programming, and other services provided by center in consultation and collaborating with other school personnel.
  3. Gathers, compiles, and maintains all necessary data that is required to complete all reports and evaluations required by CHR-Family Resource/Youth Services Center Branch, Board of Education, and/or other governing agencies.
  4. Conducts home visits for the purpose of obtaining information regarding student/family environmental needs and in planning for the appropriate intervention; assists as a liaison between home and school when follow-up is indicated.
  5. Collaborates with District Family Resource/Youth Services Center personnel, when appropriate, in facilitating training, providing services, and ensuring good cooperative working relationships between all FRC/YSC centers.
  6. Works with School Administration and Site Based Councils in determining program and service needs.
  7. Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Director of Pupil Personnel, Principal or the Superintendent.

TERM OF SERVICE:              Salary and workdays/jobs to be established by the Board.

According to U.S. Department of Labor, this position meets criteria to qualify as an executive exemption from both the minimum wage and overtime requirements set forth in KRS 337.275 and 337.285.

                                                provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Classified

                                                Personnel.
