FOOD SERVICE MANAGER I (Food Service Supervisor)
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. High School diploma or equivalent
- Must meet the health requirements of the State and the Montgomery County Board of Education.
- Must meet Physical Performance Requirements
- Catering experience required
- Such additional qualifications as the Superintendent or Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
REPORTS: Food Service Director
SUPERVISES: Food Service staff as assigned
JOB GOAL:To ensure a business like operation of the School Food Service program and assisting the director with daily operations.
BASIC FUNCTION: Manage and coordinate the day-to-day food service operations of
assigned school sites; assure compliance with District, State, and
Federal requirements and laws regarding nutrition, sanitation, safety, and record keeping; select, assign, schedule, supervise, direct, and evaluate assigned food service personnel.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manages, coordinates, and oversees the day-to-day food service operations at an assigned school site, when needed.; analyzes effectiveness, assures compliance with District, State, and Federal laws, regulations, and safety and sanitation procedures.
- Estimates and orders amount of food and supplies needed; monitors and controls expenditures, maintains assigned budget.
- Plans, assigns work schedule, supervises, and trains employees assisting with functions.
- Maintains the following records: Inventory of supplies and processing invoices.
- Attends local and state meetings as assigned by the Food Service Director.
- Assist Food Service Director with monitoring of school cafeterias/kitchens.
- Assist the Food Service Director with the summer feeding program as needed.
- Stays abreast of all state and federal guidelines.
- Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Principal, Director of Food Service or the Superintendent.
TERM OF SERVICE: Salary and workdays/jobs to be established by the Board.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel.
