CLASS TITLE:  INSTRUCTIONAL MONITOR I

                                         School Age Child Care Program Worker

                                                       (Year-around Child Care)

 

QUALIFICATIONS:                 

  1. High School diploma or equivalent
  2. Completed training in First Aid and CPR
  3. Meet minimum requirements as indicated by Cabinet for Human Resources.
  4. Must meet Physical Performance Requirements
  5. Such additional qualifications as the Superintendent or Board may find appropriate and acceptable. 

 

REPORTS:                               Childcare Supervisor and District Child Care Director

 

SUPERVISES:                         Not Applicable

 

JOB GOAL:                              To provide a quality childcare program that meets State and District guidelines and requirements and to provide a safe and stimulating environment that meets the needs of students and parents.  Works towards the goal of improving academic achievement, school attendance, and behavior.

 

BASIC FUNCTION:                 Assist on-site director, classroom teachers, or other responsible staff members in providing a safe and quality environment for students.

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Monitors students on a one-on-one basis, in small groups or in large groups to ensure their safety; to follow procedures to safeguard the health and safety of students.
  2. Maintains inventories and completes up-to-date program records as required by Child Care Site Supervisor, District Child Care Director, School Board policy, and CHR.
  3. Sets up child care program area, prepares daily snacks, and cleans up in preparation for the regular school program.
  4. Develops, facilitates, and carries out daily planned activities and circulates in assigned areas.
  5. Enforces childcare program rules and guidelines for children as indicated in the parent handbook and registration packet.
  6. Provides and performs student health services as directed by Site Supervisor after receiving appropriate training as required by law.
  7. Obtains and maintains at least the minimum requirement of training hours set forth by CHR.
  8. Requires staff to work when school is not in session including, but not limited to, snow days, holidays, etc.
  9. Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Child Care Site Supervisor, District Child Care Director, or the Superintendent.
